POP3 fetch working when it wants to? - 20-05-2008, 04:07 PM

I have a POP3 fetch set for every 10 minutes, the default, which I don't see a way to change. My cron job runs every 5 minutes, and it has been running consistently.

So why does my task log show that it ran a fetch at 11:00, 11:42 and 12:00, 20-40 minutes apart, with nothing in-between?

Hi ECSI,

It is likely that your cron job isn't actually calling anything every five minutes, and by logging into the staff control panel you're actually triggering the pseudo-cron system at these times. I would recommend testing your cron setup.

Doesn't the interface record pseudo cron execution time only?

Yesterday, I had the cron job send me an email every time it ran, and the log in Kayako was showing them every 5 minutes. Last night I disabled the emails, and when I just logged in again to check the cron jobs, the timing had been changed. Not sure how it happened because I didn't alter anything but the email address, but I reset it to 5 minutes again and now it seems to be running fine.

Strange - but it appears it isn't a Kayako issue.

Thanks!

The interface was recording all the successful cron jobs that ran every 5 minutes yesterday, so the cron calls which executed the pseudo-con jobs are logged in Kayako.

Jamie,

Is there any way to change the POP3 fetch default settings from 10 minutes to 5 minutes? I couldn't find a setting in the admin panel.
