17-02-2008, 07:54 AM
Hi.. I have searched for over 2 days on how to get the pop3 to work... I just submitted a support ticket - Ticket Information Ticket ID: LPS-763947 I know that I have my passwords correct, I have applied the cron correctly in Plesk 8.3 with Horde mail... I use and have used pop3 in for the last 5 years with Outlook and several others... It is definitely a esupport issue... I am very frustrated and just setup the email account successfully with Outlook. It is not an issue with the pop3 setting nor account user name and password... esupport-3_11_01-stable-zendclosed on a server that is hosted by a 3rd party.. I currently have 2 other email programs that call and send email without any problem... I do not have the option to pipe because the hosting is on a shared server and will take weeks to work out... pop3 is the easiest but does not work! After reading the post, I can see that there are several folks with the same problem... Please some tell me what I need to do... Thank you in advance... the timeout error: array(1) { [0]=> string(68) "Connection failed to pop.nationaldarts.com,110: Connection timed out" } Total Messages Rejected Messages: Accepted Messages: Server Info below PHP Info Your server's PHP configuration details are listed below. And you are sure that mailbox is accessible? There is no firewall blocking the connection? If not, I suggest you contact support (http://members.kayako.net -> "Get Support") so they can trace the issue. Icon Headquarters - Its Elixir - Web2Messenger |

Hi... Would Outlook and a couple of other desktop email programs be able to access pop3 and esupport not be able to with a firewall issue? In theory, they should work the same... Anyway, I have contacted support with a request.. thank you... |

It could still be a firewall issue I suppose (ie allowing external but not internal in a weird setup). Anyway, support will be able to trace the issue quicker than any of us here can guess about what the issue could be. Icon Headquarters - Its Elixir - Web2Messenger |

I actually figured it out! For those who were lost like me This is how you work around POP3 issues similar to what I described above... After using the same settings as outlook, go to your server and look up your domain ip address... In the mail parser settings, instead of the of pop.yourdomain.com, try using the ip address instead... test the http://your_domain.com/yourkayako_fo....php?_t=parser (this is what it looks like with 1 reply to an email sent back to you and one new email sent to you) Total Messages in Inbox: 2 Fetching Msg Num: 1 Account is POP3 Fetching Msg UID: 1 Fetching Msg Num: 2 Account is POP3 Fetching Msg UID: 2 2 Total Messages Rejected Messages: 0 Accepted Messages: 2 Second issue, no mail to check... Well Outlook probably already checked it... So disable outlook mail for target pop3 email address and instead put a forwarder to a different email account.. (This is so you can verify that tickets are being created for the email received.) Regarding the firewall issue... After several attempts of contacting our server folks, I discovered that they don't use firewalls on email systems because they jam up and cause problems... |
