Active Directory Loginshare get more info (FieldFetch)

Hi All

I've logged a feature request for this: FS#1587

I was thinking for the active directory loginshare module, whether it would be easy to pull more information via LDAP. What we have at the moment is a lot of custom fields in a new ticket, where a user enters their phone number, company and location. It would be good if these details could be pulled from Active Directory.

What i was thinking of is, linking the AD loginshare module with custom fields, and allow certain fields to be viewed by staff when they view the ticket.

Let me know if you have any ideas on how to do this.

Version 3.1 of esupport is suppose to have a FieldFetch module that will allow you to do what you want..

FieldFetch is a feature in v3.1 that will allow you to write/share your own FieldFetch plugins. The plugins allow you to display custom content when viewing ticket or in ticket list.

Example: You can have a FieldFetch ModernBill plugin that displays pending invoices, client details, invoices due etc.

I think this can be usefull for us, we need to connect esupport with a own sql database with lot of more usefull info about users. (and from live help too, but it do not allow custom fields on chats, nor check the user registration custom fields.)

I have version 3.1 and I do not see any meantions of Field Fetching from AD. Unless this is a third party plugin funtion, it looks like it didn't make it in this release.

Varun said that 3.1 is now 3.5 for the major release. I'm also getting impatient as we've being waiting for months for these promised features
