Server Status - 26-02-2008, 02:50 PM

I for one and probably anyone else who runs a webhosting business would love Server Status in Version 4. So should be able to login to Admin CP go to the Server Status section and add a IP to monitor and then on that IP can add ports and labels So could have it listen on IP 192.168.1.1 for ports like HTTP 80, SSL 443, etc

Then on the client side they can click on Server Status and will show

192.168.1.1 ONLINE

192.168.1.49 OFFLINE

Then if they click on a specific server the next page will show all the ports and their status.

a bonus feature but not super important would be nice if the client can then choose favorite servers from the list and any server marked as favorite they will be emailed anytime server is down... plus server admin should be notified that server is down as well...

Server Status checking every few minutes + Uptime Monitor should both be implemented as modules in V4 in my opinion. Varun said a long while back they were on the to do list.

This won't be on the roadmap for Version 4 soon, but would be an ideal candidate for a module to be developed on top of the SWIFT platform. It very much a niche feature (for web hosts).

True Jamie, there are better project outs there that can do these things than reinvent the wheel.
