As in another post, it would be cool if you could change to Dev Edit (http://www.interspire.com/devedit/) where WYSIWYG editing is needed. It is a much better solution. Icon Headquarters - Its Elixir - Web2Messenger |

Why not TinyMCE or FCKeditor. They are both free. | |

TinyMCE is a more likely editor. -------------------------------------------------------------------

We would not include a commercial element of software - this would mean that our users would be required to purchase DevEdit in order to use it. It is highly unlikely a non-open source utility would be considered (not just a "freeware" license but entirely open source) for implementation. -------------------------------------------------------------------

You don't understand Jamie......You purchase a redisribuable license for $849.00 and that is it. You can choose to pay about $90 a year to receive updates and support. Icon Headquarters - Its Elixir - Web2Messenger |

Correct, but we do not wish to engage in any licensing other than open source if integrating any other products with our software - regardless of whether or not we can purchase and distribute using redistributal licenses. We would prefer to use and integrate something that is completely open-source with a rigid developer community so that we can aim to support it as best as we can, rather than acting as a go-between between our customer and DevEdit. This is our position at the moment. -------------------------------------------------------------------

But you use 3rd party commercial stuff in the Windows addons... Not being a pest, just feel DevEdit is the way forward. TinyMCE is just weird. Icon Headquarters - Its Elixir - Web2Messenger |

Me thinks we need a few more people to pipe up about DevEdit being great. *winks* Icon Headquarters - Its Elixir - Web2Messenger |

I have a distributable licence and the code is open-source. Even if Kayako weren't willing to invest in DevEdit, I'd like the option of being able to easily replace the existing text area replacement with DevEdit for my own use. |

I was trying to get this across to Jamie the other day. Kayako apparently have the preference of using open source stuff because of the modding community that usually follow these movements. I strongly disagree with using anything but DevEdit. Myself and my developer spent ages checking out every option on the market WYSIWYG Editor wise. It became clear to us that all are badly coded but DevEdit. Chris has agreed with this. We now have 4 of us agreeing along the same lines with 3 of us who use it being able to vouch for it being great based on its backend code. Would like to see Varun / Ryan posting their thoughts on this really. Icon Headquarters - Its Elixir - Web2Messenger |
