We are a bit beyond APIs, in terms of development - we will be writing APIs for our own code implementations

As Jamie said, TinyMCE more of a platform or foundation to build upon and customise.

This of course, includes adding your own functionality and TinyMCE has a javascript based API for this (I've implemented my own file/image manager to replace their cruddy commercial version)

Unless you meant some other form of API?

(By the way - no using my modified versions code in SupportSuite - my code is very messy and I haven't had a chance to clean it up!)

Hey Craig , so do you still suggest devEdit over TinyMCE? I am looking for integrating WYSIWYG editor for my forum and blog creation pages. My aim is to make user feel good while they are creating blog or replying in forum.
Features list really doesn't matter much.

The only thing that I couldn't find on devEdit is collection of smileys in any of their mode.

I felt really good while using the demo of devEdit, vs TinyMCE.

Taking a second opinion.

Deffo. TinyMCE is like the OSCommerce of WYSIWYG editors. It requires tons of modification just to get it to do what you want!

Cool I wanted to give you my thoughts - 25-07-2008, 05:32 PM

Regardless, of which editor you use for the Support Suite, I believe there is one then that seems to have not been discussed. Functionality, for example most designers use CSS for formatting and design. Does, either of these editors allow for predefined styles to appear via a CSS document?

It only makes since to me that should be a major priority. For example, I work with a larger group of staff, many are updating content for the site and few are working on the CSS and scripting. It just seems to me that every time the Content gets updated there is no consistency with these editors. If my designer could write the css for the site and the editor could look to the css file for the available styles. This would make the product that much more functional and save us programmer countless hours of reformatting the content add by the marketing team. I would assume that the other support suite users would like this functionality as well. What are the possibilities’s of this every happening?

Thanks for your time and efforts!
