CSI -> Comments -> CAPTCHA for comments - 27-06-2007, 03:10 PM

Is it just me or does everyone get spammed advertisements in the Comments submission box on the news, downloads and KB articles pages?

Would be really nice to have CAPTCHA on the comments box too - its a pain having to remove all the spammed advertisements in the morning

We get spammed bigtime I modified the code a bit, so I log the IP of the spammer and ban him from Supportsuite for good.

Some other suggestions - 07-08-2007, 09:46 PM

How about check boxes for deletes so we could do more than one at a time?

At least move the Approve/Edit/Delete function to the left so I do not have to scroll on each one.

totally agreed - 03-09-2007, 07:28 PM

This is a joke, that this has not been added as default yet, we get spammed big time and it takes ages to clear them out.

Come on Kayako get is sorted, its like only a few of us hate how it works.

If I remember correctly, someone has added a mod which adds CAPTCHA for comments. Search the forums and you should find it.

Client Comment Validation + Captcha is what you are after.

I do agree tho, it needs to be implemented ASAP by Kayako.

Hi ECSI,

Are you sure you're using 3.20.03? The latest stable version is 3.20.02. For the record, the feature has not yet been implemented in the 3.20.03 that is being developed.

If you have downloaded and installed 3.20.03 from the Builds tab, I strongly advise that you downgrade to 3.20.02 - 3.20.03 in the Builds tab is a CVS snapshot, untested and unstable and (at the moment) unsupported, as per the warning when you click to download a build from the Builds tab.

Is there anyway that when you add this feature, you can also allow us to use an alternative captcha system such as recaptcha?

It's a superior captcha system than the Kayako version.

Yes, ReCAPTCHA would be a nice option to have built in.

Unfortunately, there is no "superior" CAPTCHA - they are all fundamentally broken in different respects. Also, it is not possible 'bundle in' reCaptcha; everyone would need an account with reCaptcha, and an API key.

A better solution to a better captcha would be a Turing question, which we are considering as a validation option for V4.
