1. Welcome to the feedback forum. Here's some tips for giving your suggestions the best shot:
    • Search before posting: See if someone else has already posted your suggestion. If you add your support to an existing, you're more likely to bubble up the request.
    • Keep one suggestion to one thread: Try not to club lots of different suggestions together in one thread. Otherwise, people will get confused about what they're voting for and we might miss your feedback.
  2. Kayako Download customers: we will continue to develop and support Kayako Download beyond July 2017, alongside the new Kayako for existing customers.

[Bug] Kayako URL-decodes ticket replies before displaying them

Discussion in 'Kayako product feedback and suggestions' started by Martin von Wittich, Sep 27, 2016.

  1. Hi,

I just sent a customer the contents of a strongSwan configuration file that looks like this:

I was very surprised to see that after I had replied, Kayako showed a garbled "conn" line in my reply (see attached screenshot):

Apparently Kayako tries to URL-decode ticket replies before displaying them and thinks that %de is supposed to be an escape sequence. That is of course not the case. The problem is easy to reproduce - just create a user ticket and put the following text in the reply field, then click Create:

It should display "%68%65%6c%6c%6f", but instead it displays "hello".

The mails that are sent are fortunately not affected by this.
