Is there a way to test Email Templates without putting into production?

    I'm looking into customizing our notification emails, but I want to make sure I don't cause any issues with messing around with them. Is there way that I can test the templates without it affects the real notifications within the system?

    Hi Tony,

    The best way to test that would be to setup a new template group, and alter the templates on the alternate group.

    You you can submit a ticket using that new template and see what the email responses look like.

    When I create a new ticket, how do I specify it goes to a particular group?

    You can force it from the URL, e.g. helpdeskdomain.com/index.php?/TemplateName

    I seemed to have lost the customization guide I was looking at. I can find this: http://forums.kayako.com/threads/build-your-own-custom-notifications.28353/ and this: https://forge.kayako.com/projects/customnotificationmessages (which are essentially the same thing,) but I wanted to make sure I'm looking at the most up-to-date info. I just found this: https://kayako.atlassian.net/wiki/display/DOCS/4.65#id-4.65-Ticketnotificationemailtemplatevariables and its completely different.
