The mobile apps project for Kayako 4 has been a long time coming - a lot longer than we wanted or originally anticipated. We made a mistake in announcing when work started, only then to provide no updates on what our changing roadmap meant for the mobile apps (which spanned the big launch of Kayako 4). Admittedly, not a good situation. We've learned from this and will do a lot better to manage expectations in the future. However, we do have some updates today. This thread will be kept up-to-date with the current status of each app. You can find a discussion thread here. Kayako Mobile for Android Kayako Mobile for Android has been released! Kayako Mobile for iOS (iPad and iPhone) Functionally the app is complete, although there still some UI work to be done (which we left to the end - but what a stunning and thoroughly iOS UI it will be!), so no screenshots just yet. We expect to post some previews in late July, during which a closed beta test will take place. The initial release will follow very shortly after that. Kayako Mobile for BlackBerry Development of Kayako Mobile for BlackBerry has been on hold and will continue to be on hold for the time being. We are closely monitoring the situation with BlackBerry OS - where it is about to go (QNX?), the availability of BlackBerry OS5, and so on. We're not writing the BlackBerry off completely. However, we are being realistic - we want our resources to be targeted appropriately. Mobile web interface Instead, we have been working on a mobile and touch-friendly web interface to the interfaces of our products. We'll be rolling this out in parts in subsequent updates to your helpdesk (keep an eye on the blog).
A sneaky peek while we apply some finishing touches to Kayako Mobile for iOS, which will have native interfaces for both the iPhone and iPad:
Work continues on the iOS user interface. In each ticket listing itself there will be controls that can be revealed by swiping a ticket (those who use Twitter and Facebook clients on their iOS devices will be familiar with this gesture).
Kayako Mobile for Android beta has been delayed slightly because the upcoming general release of 4.01 (which will be needed to use Kayako Mobile) has itself been delayed. I hope we'll have both out next week, stay tuned!
